Samuel Lloyd Lacia Milby was born in Ohio, US on 23 May 1984. Of Visayan and American lineage, Sam Milby is a commercial model. He first appeared for an advertisement for Close-Up toothpaste and went on to do many print ads before he was chosen to become one of the 13 housemate in Pinoy Big Brother, Season 1 in November 2005.

Sam had already become a heartthrob for many Filipinas and achieved celebrity after he left the house of Pinoy Big Brother. While still part of the show, he composed a song called Magmahal Muli (To Love Again) along with fellow housemate Say.

Seeing his talent, Sam was signed for his maiden solo album. Self-titled Sam’s album was released in February 2006, it was repackaged and re-released in August 2006 with an additional song called There’s More (Centrum Song). This is the theme song for the Centrum endorsements spots and became certified platinum in March 2006.

2006, has been a successful year for Sam in more ways than just launching his singing career. Sam’s first movie, Close to You along with the love pair of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo was a Box Office hit in the Philippines and won him rave reviews.

Sam is also part of the movie You are The One, which stars him alongside Toni Gonzaga, his real life girlfriend. The movie that was released on 30 August 2006 opened to excellent reviews and has proved effective in establishing Sam as an actor of reckoning. Today, Sam’s popularity has extended to US after the film was released there.
